How it started...
'Dame Dolly’s One Person Panto’ started off life as ‘Dame Dolly Does…’, which consisted of two roller banners, an arts and craft section and the stories of Jack and the Beanstalk, Goldilocks and the Three Bears and Little Red Riding Hood. It was first performed in Squish Kids Theatre in Camberley in October 2021 and almost five years later there have been several Pantomime Dame Solo shows from Dame Dolly Dollop; Dame Dolly’s One Person Panto, Dame Dolly’s Spooktacular Show, Dame Dolly’s Half Term Havoc and most recently Dame Dolly’s Spooktacular Pirate Party, returning this Halloween as Dame Dolly’s Spooktacular Pirate Show.
The next step...
The change of name from Dame Dolly Does… to Dame Dolly’s One Person Panto came when the show transferred over from small theatres and community halls to the holiday parks as a cabaret act, as songs were added into the show and the arts and craft section was dropped. Dame Dolly always opens the show with a musical number and of course now having access to a full sound system for her shows she has many other weird and wonderful sound affects and routines that only Pantomime can bring! The name change also reflects exactly what the show is and gives the audience exactly what it says on the tin a One Person Panto! Though of course there’s plenty of audience participation involved during the show!

Todays show...
From 2023 to 25 the panto title performed as part of Dame Dolly’s One Person Panto was Jack and the Beanstalk. Currently the title touring is Robinson Crusoe (well Dame Dolly’s version of it anyway!). The title performed as part of the show is changed every two years to keep it fresh, so 2026 will be the last year for the story of Robinson Crusoe!
As well as performing Dame Dolly’s One Person Panto on the cabaret circuit and some theatres, Joe has also created other solo Pantomime Dame shows which he has toured across several theatres. Most recently performing Dame Dolly’s Half Term Havoc a show all about school and some very loosely based educational guesswork, this was toured across a few venues in 2025 and then performed in 2026 back in February at the Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone where Joe has been the resident Dame for the past few festive seasons. The other solo show Joe has toured around theatres for the past five spooky seasons is Dame Dolly’s Spooktacular, which started off at the Colour House Theatre in Merton, London in 2022. After selling out the Colour House Theatre the next year the show was toured to several theatres over the Halloween Half Term this continued until 2024 and then the production changed to a new title in 2025 Dame Dolly’s Spooktacular Pirate Party, which will return touring several theatres over October Half Term in 2026 as Dame Dolly’s Spooktacular Pirate Show. The Spooktacular Shows also underwent a transformation to become the Super Spooktacular version of the show in 2024 (Dame Dolly’s Super Spooktacular Show) Dame Dolly was joined by a supporting cast as well as ACEs Dance Academy, which meant the show could have bigger musical routines as well as some extra added overall madness!
For this year in 2026 Dame Dolly’s Spooktacular Pirate Show will also receive the SUPER treatment and will be performed as it was in 2024 at the West Cliff Theatre in Clacton On Sea with a supporting cast and the return of ACEs Dance Academy.
